Born in Freiburg, he has already been on the podium of the Cross Country National Championships in the junior and U23 categories. In the elite category he finished 5th at the German Championships and won a stage at the Rothaus Bike Giro in 2021. He is familiar with the Saarland due to the German Championships in Sankt Ingbert. There, he finished third in the U23 race in 2018 behind Maximilian Brandl and Luca Schwarzbauer, who are currently the flagships of German mountain biking. It shows what kind of class Vinzent brings to the table. Now it will be exciting to work with him to transform his skills onto the road.
"I have seen quite a lot in the world of mountain biking and went through a big process of development. As one of the youngest riders at MTB marathons, I've finished on the podium at high-profile races and am currently 34th in the UCI world rankings in the marathon," says Vinzent. From cross country, the Freiburg native moved on to the marathon and as a big cycling fanatic, he is now looking forward to starting a new chapter on the road: "It will be exciting to be on the road with the guys from BIKE AID from now on, to get to know new things and to tell stories with and through cycling."
Vinzent thinks outside the box, wants to inspire and make a difference. In conversation with Matthias Schnapka, he realised that the team's philosophy fits well with that of his. "As a team and as an association, BIKE AID wants to convince far more than just in terms of sport. They care about issues beyond cycling, are open to new things and dare to do what few or no one else does. With BIKE AID, I have found a team that stands up for values that I also represent," says Vinzent Dorn.
