Adrian Zuger - An emerging talent

Saturday, Dec 31, 2022 in Pro Cycling

From the BIKE AID Development Team, junior Adrian Zuger is now making the leap into the professional team.

Adrian is only 21 years old, but has been on his bike for a long time and started racing at a young age. Whether he was successful or not, he simply had fun. In 2021, he then attracted attention at the under 23 National Championships at Sachsenring as the best amateur, finishing in 12th place. This was despite school with a hard period of exams and sometimes not even ten hours of training per week.

Versatile sprinter

In 2022 Adrian then started his first season with structured training. At this year's under 23 National Championships, which was in fact far too hilly for the sprinter, he put down a clear statement and attracted quite some attention by finishing in 11th place. At the "Großer Silberpreis" in Bellheim, a tough 200-kilometre race, Adrian finished seventh as the best amateur, confirming his great shape.

The concept works

"For me, Adrian's move to our continental team is confirmation that our concept is working. You can see that the perspective of the pro team is a clear motivation for our riders during training. In addition, Adrian learned incredibly fast to implement certain tactics in the race. Now he gets the chance he has worked hard for and has earned. I am happy for Adrian and very excited about the future." Patrick Lechner said.

"In the coming year I want to continue to develop as a rider. I am sure I will learn a lot, especially in stage races and other big races." Says Adrian Zuger.
