What do Marcel Kittel, Anne Terpstra, Karl Platt and Salim Kipkemboi have in common?

The original in the field of bicycle computers: SIGMA SPORT.
Based in Neustadt an der Weinstraße in the Palatinate, at the foot of the "Pfälzer Wald" and just a bike ride away from Saarland, we are entering the third year of our partnership with SIGMA and have a lot planned.

For two years now, we have been following the routes of the SIGMA ROX 12.0 bike computer, gaining a lot of data from it for evaluating and controlling our training and looking forward to starting the bike computer and cycling every day anew.

Two years have passed since Patrick Lechner ended his active cycling career in our prol team and found a new employer at SIGMA SPORT as Marketing Manager. Fortunately, Patrick thus also became our contact person at SIGMA. At the end of 2020 there was a short communication break, but a short time later Patrick came around the corner with quite a few ideas and news for the year 2021. It will probably be the most exciting year of our partnership, because SIGMA has a lot planned.

#ridesafe

In addition to bike computers, lighting continues to be the focus of our partnership. The company not only develops power lights for MTB nightrides, but also many products that provide more safety on the road, such as the Blaze or Infinity rear lights. As part of the #ridesafe campaign, SIGMA wants to make road cyclists and commuters aware of the use of lighting even during the day, which is also becoming more and more a matter of course for professional cyclists.

All New

The topic of safety is very close to SIGMA's heart, but that was by no means all the news. Because the SIGMA year starts with a new brand identity and holds even more exciting news about the company and its products. Together with a fresh logo, clearly defined brand values and a new marketing concept, the company wants to enter 2021 younger, more dynamic, more international and more innovative.

Brand Ambassador

In the context of the new appearance of SIGMA, the concept of our professional team fits even more into the communication of the Palatine company. Therefore we are happy to announce that our Kenyan Salim Kipkemboi will be one of four brand ambassadors for SIGMA SPORT. Salim will be appearing alongside some very big names in this project: Marcel Kittel (14-time Tour de France stage winner), Anne Terpstra (overall leader of the 2019 MTB World Ranking) or even the Palatinate mountain bike veteran and five-time Cape Epic winner Karl Platt.
And not only that - SIGMA SPORT takes over the godparenthood of Salim for the year 2021 and thus further expands the commitment with us and our project.

A look behind the scenes

In addition to many marketing activities and, if that becomes possible this year, appearances together with SIGMA, Salim will also have the opportunity to do an educational internship in various departments of the Neustadt-based sports company. This will give him an insight behind the scenes and into the processes as well as structures of a European company.

"We are very happy to intensify our cooperation with SIGMA SPORT. To present Salim Kipkemboi as one of only four brand ambassadors is a great sign of confidence in our project. We have made it our mission to promote our African riders beyond the sport. We can only succeed in this if we find partners who support us. With SIGMA SPORT we have a partner with whom the cooperation now meshes on several levels. Sponsoring for our professional team, interesting offers for our community, integration of our story into corporate communications, and even the opportunity for Salim to gain new knowledge and impressions as part of an educational internship. This is a partnership in action," says Matthias Schnapka.
