The "flying Dutchman" proofed his good shape couple of times during the past weeks and today he was very close to his first ever UCI victory. Only in the last meters he got beaten by few centimeters and had to be happy with 2nd place at the end of a hard climb.
Nikodemus Holler finished 47 seconds behind on a good 6th place while Salim Kipkemboi rounded the day up with place 13.
Holler now ranks 4th in GC only 1:08 down and van Engelen follows on place 7.
